HEIP receives Jean-François Colosimo, director of editions of Cerf
As part of its monthly webinar, HEIP welcomes a new personality on a given theme.
December, the theme of the webinar is the following: “Secularism, a French issue” by Jean-François Colosimo, philosopher and historian of religious fact, general manager of the editions of the deer. Like every month, the webinar was moderated by Arnaud Benedetti, editor-in-chief of the Revue Politique et Parlementaire.
As public debate flares up again around the principle of secularism and reveals the fractures that run through French society, it is urgent to ask ourselves: What is secularism? What is its active ingredient? What does his story tell us? What existential meaning does it confer on the national community? How can he confront political theologies that seem foreign to him?
These are the multiple-entry questions addressed by Jean-François Colosimo. Philosopher and historian of the religious fact, general manager of the editions of the deer, he explores through his work the theological-political space through the prism of major contemporary issues. His last published work: “French religion: A thousand years of secularism” (cerf).
